MDF/Co-op

The LANDesk Market Development Fund (MDF) has been developed to help you grow your business and generate increased awareness of award-winning LANDesk® products. MDF is a proposal-based, jointly funded effort that requires working closely with the LANDesk partner marketing team to orchestrate MDF plans with your long-term business objectives.

MDF is available to Platinum and Gold ESPs on a discretionary basis based on the merit of approved activities in your LANDesk approved business plan. These funds are designed to support a variety of marketing campaigns. MDF is not generally available to Silver ESPs.

LANDesk Platinum and Gold ESPs must meet the quarterly minimum sales thresholds of their current business plan in order to qualify for MDF in a given quarter. Resellers who are not members of the LANDesk ESP program are not eligible for MDF.

Elements of a good MDF request that will likely receive approved funding include:

  • Strategic and well-planned campaigns/activities
  • Results of 10X investment or higher
  • Complete forms with detailed campaign information and estimated costs
  • Delivery of leads generated by MDF activity (leads are to be entered in Salesforce)

All marketing communication must have a purpose (solve a pain point), be consistent (relevant, ongoing communication) and open lines of communication to prospects, with a strong call to action (drive response).

MDF Reimbursement

  • Appropriate MDF requests: Purchase of direct marketing lists, outside agency costs, telemarketing and seminar expenses—room rental, catering, equipment rental, giveaways, etc. MDF metrics must be submitted prior to reimbursement.
  • Inappropriate MDF requests: airfare, hotel, meals, car rental, employee salary/hourly rate, ESP facility fees, etc.

MDF Process

  • Each ESP should work with its LANDesk field representative to develop a long-term business and marketing plan—typically with a rolling nine-month view.
  • MDF proposals must be developed and submitted in the quarter prior to the program's execution.
  • Once the ESP proposal is submitted, this begins an internal process at LANDesk to earmark approved funding levels.
  • The marketing activity occurs and leads must be gathered and documented. A project lead analysis should also take place.
  • Activity costs and invoices are sent to LANDesk for verification and reimbursement.
  • Leads are placed into ROI process to be evaluated during subsequent quarterly business reviews.
